Weight Class, Not Weapon Choice, Decides Most Mech Battles
New players tend to focus on the flashiest weapon available. Veterans know the chassis weight class underneath it decides far more of the fight, and that difference shows up the moment two mismatched bots collide.
Heavy bots absorb mistakes. A slower, armored mech can eat a few misjudged hits and keep fighting, where a light chassis with the same damage taken is already in trouble.
Light bots punish hesitation. Speed lets a lighter mech control distance entirely, but only if the pilot commits - hesitating in a light chassis just means eating hits meant to be dodged.
Weapon damage means less without the frame to use it. A powerful weapon on a chassis that can't survive long enough to fire twice rarely outperforms a modest weapon on a bot built to last the whole match.
None of this needs a deep build guide - just picking a weight class that matches how patient or aggressive you actually want to play.
