Loadout Habits That Matter More Than Any Single Weapon

A stronger weapon rarely saves a badly built loadout. These four habits fix more losses than any single part upgrade does.

Balance weight before adding weapons

Overloading a chassis with heavy weapons slows it past the point of being useful. Checking the weight budget first avoids a mech that can't move fast enough to matter.

Pair one long-range and one close-range weapon

Relying on a single weapon range leaves obvious gaps. A mixed loadout covers both distance and close encounters without switching bots.

Don't skip mobility parts

Extra armor looks safer on paper, but a bot that can't reposition often takes more damage overall than one that dodges instead of tanking.

Test against a weight class above yours

Practicing only against lighter bots hides weaknesses that only show up against something that can actually punch back hard.

None of this needs a min-maxed spreadsheet - a rough sense of weight and range coverage gets most builds most of the way there.
